Home

Note to all those snowbirds out there: It's November and we all know what's coming! And every year this indoor is a nice place to ride during those long cold months just around the corner. Lots of skylights and windows let the sun in during the day and there are big overhead lights that get turned on around 4 in the afternoon when the sun's going down (and yes that's about all the daylight New Englanders get in the winter!) All that trail riding was fun but winter's the time for some serious ring work. Keep your horse going, keep yourself in the saddle. Come join us! You'll be glad you did.

Stillpoint Farm has been offering quality care for horses since 1989. We are a 12-acre 12-horse capacity family-run boarding stable in Amherst, Massachusetts, five minutes from downtown, 2.5 miles to UMass., 30 minutes to South Hadley. We believe that maximum turnout and a low horse-to-acreage ratio keeps horses healthy and relaxed. Our paddocks stay green for an extended season spring and fall thanks to a mixed terrain of gently rolling south-facing slopes and shaded wetlands. The farm is located on the high point of the first range of low hills that border the Pioneer Valley on the northeast. In summer, we catch breezes that keep the bugs to a minimum and the temperature a little cooler, and in the winter the sun often warms the hills before it penetrates into the lowlands. We are annexed to conservation land with easy access to miles of trails in the Leverett-Pelham hills including the Robert Frost Trail and the Metacomet-Monadnock Trail.

Sand/loam arena conditioned with magnesium chloride crystals to maintain moisture, combat dust and lower temperature at which footing freezes. Outdoor light for evening rides.

Fall is the best season for riding. It's yet another beautiful day to ride and then stay outside another hour and clean tack before going inside to clean the barn. Breakfast dishes? They can wait!

Moonlit schooling in the ring, while some of the kids kick a soccer ball around in the yard.
